Richard M. Nielson, ESQ.

Mr. Nielson joined the firm through a merger in 2017. He is a 1989 graduate of Northern Kentucky University, with a B.A. in Political Science and History. He is a 1993 graduate of Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, and is licensed to practice law in Kentucky and Ohio. Rich is admitted to practice before the US District Courts for the Southern District of Ohio, the Eastern District of Kentucky, the Western District of Kentucky, and the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

While a student at Chase College of Law, Rich was President of the Student Bar Association and served on the 1993 Dean Search Committee. Prior to his admission to the practice of law, Rich clerked for a local law firm and received extensive training in conducting loan closings and performing real estate title examinations.

Prior to merging, Rich maintained an ongoing law partnership with fellow graduate Jeff Sherry since 1993 and formed Nielson & Sherry, PSC which was one of the leading full-service creditor’s rights law firm based in Kentucky. In early 2017, Jeff & Rich made the strategic decision to merge with Reimer Law Co., based in Solon, Ohio, in order to provide clients with a unique and powerful mutli-state advantage. Rich continues to be an active shareholder of this larger organization and manages the Kentucky operations.

Mr. Nielson is an active member of both the USFN and ALFN. He is a frequent lecturer on mortgage banking, bankruptcy, real estate and collection topics. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, National Association of Chapter Thirteen Trustees (associate membership), Kentucky Creditors Rights Bar Association, the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, Louisville Bar Association, Greater Louisville Chamber of Commerce, and the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce.
